Our courses consist of the most common and useful commands for everyday life with your dog. Obedience is not only the immediate physical response to a verbal command, but also an attitude of desire and motivation to respond to commands. You will learn functional and reliable methods for developing an obedient and reliable SMART DOG!

TRAINING COURSES

Kindergarten Puppy Training:
4 weeks on a lesson basis, or 2 weeks with SMART DOGS.

Heel, Sit, Down, Stay, begin housebreaking routine. Consult owner on all behaviors.

Phase I On Leash Obedience:
6 weeks on a lesson basis, or 3 weeks with SMART DOGS.

Heel, Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Finish Heel on leash. Consult owner on all behaviors.

Phase II Some on/off Leash Obedience:
10 weeks of lessons, or 4 weeks with SMART DOGS.

Heel, Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Finish Heel on leash. Sit stay and down stay on or off leash for a reasonable amount of time and distance. All commands taught with verbal and hand signals. Consult owner on all behaviors.

Phase III Off Leash Obedience:
Dogs must be evaluated thoroughly do determine length of training.

Heel, Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Finish Heel on and off leash. All commands taught with verbal and hand signals. Consult with owner on all behaviors.

Problem Solving: per lesson
Consult owner on solutions to behavioral problems.

Protection Training-complete evaluation and consultation required.Home, and or personal protection.

Lesson Basis Training:
In these courses - I meet with you and your dog an average of twice a week for the length of the course, and you continue to train with your dog the other days of the week.

With SMART DOGS - in these courses your dog goes to boot camp. He or she lives with us in a neutral environment and is trained 3-4 times a day 6-7 days a week to provide a solid foundation at whatever level of training you're enrolled in. Then you will be given lessons on how to handle your dog when the course is over. It's like us building the car and teaching you how to drive it.

Additional services include:

Private in-home training, day training for life skills and behavior issues, pre-adoption consultations, kids and dogs consultations, enrichment training and re-training for elderly/geriatric dogs, reactive dogs that need help relaxing and focusing, remote coaching via Skype, foundation skills to prepare for agility, obedience, rally and therapy dog training, and veterinary referrals.
